Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography

Birch Aquarium is on the campus of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). It features marine life from northern and southern waters, interactive exhibits, and revolving displays. The aquarium is located in La Jolla at 2300 Expedition Way, 11.1 miles northwest of our San Diego (Mission Valley) hotel.

Cabrillo National Monument

The Cabrillo National Monument is at the south end of Cabrillo Memorial Drive on Point Loma. The monument honors Juan Rodriquez Cabrillo’s exploration of the West Coast of the United States in 1542. Old Town San Diego State Historic Park

Old Town San Diego is a six-block area consisting of many of San Diego’s original building such as the Courthouse. The area is located 4 miles southwest of our San Diego (Mission Valley) hotel.

Palomar Observatory

The Palomar Observatory has four domes, the largest having a large telescope used to study distant planets. The observatory is located atop Palomar Mountain at 35899 Canfield Rd in the Cleveland National Forest, 73.9 miles northeast of our San Diego (Mission Valley) hotel.
